The owners of the Viewpoint Inn have recently been giving the historic location a complete overhaul. When we were there last, the new catering kitchen was going in and the hardwood floors were refinished and glowing. It was early spring, so Angelo was about to plant the gardens for summer blooms. The owners plan to offer meals and lodging in addition to hosting weddings and other events.
The Viewpoint Inn is a great location for a summer wedding or a small intimate winter one. During the summer months, they typically set up the ceremony site on either side of the main walkway, overviewing the gorge. For winter weddings, guests typically gather ’round the fireplace, either sitting on the two big sofas or standing near. The winter setup can be a little difficult for larger groups, since it’s hard to see and hear the couple saying vows, but ideal for more intimate celebrations.
Because the building and grounds are so gorgeous, the Viewpoint Inn is becoming one of our favorite spots to shoot weddings. Here’s a few photos of celebrations from different seasons of the year.

I don’t think they have a website yet, but the phone number there is 503-695-5811.
